Mulilo means fire, in Bemba and in Nyanja.
The work is the distance between a spark and a spectacle. The spark is a date on a calendar, a name on a poster, a family sitting down to plan a Chilanga Mulilo, a company that needs the room to feel like itself, a brand that wants a place on a night people already chose. The spectacle is the room, full and looked after, and the last light out.
We are an event planning and production house. Concerts and festivals, for national artists and for visiting international artists. Comedy, variety, and talent shows. Sports events. Awards. Fashion shows and pageants. Corporate events and conferences. Weddings and birthdays. Fairs and expos.
Zambia, and the road in
A tour runs through Lusaka, the Copperbelt, and Livingstone: one production language, local crew in each city. The artist should feel it is one night, in three rooms.
When the artist is coming from outside the country, we are the Zambian house on the ground. Papers. The flight day. A rider we can actually fill, or an honest substitute said early. A local bill, so the room is already ours before the visitor walks on. Settlement their management can take home.
We know Lusaka, the Copperbelt, and Livingstone. We know how to make a visiting team — a board, a minister, a travelling side, a guest from the other side of the world — feel the room was built for them.
